Jeff Richardson Company History

The Jeff Richardson Company emerged as an independent business after Jeff R. Richardson graduated from Furman University and began selling insurance as an independent salesperson. He later began dabbling in real estate and was one of the first in the Upstate to become a licensed agent. His son, Jeff, jr. joined him after graduating from Furman.  An "invitation from the government" came shortly afterward graduation, delaying his chance to complete his first real estate transaction. After his father's retirement in the 1970s, Jeff, jr. sold the insurance end of the company and concentrated solely on real estate.  Caroline Richardson Mahaffey is the third generation family member to serve as Broker.

The Jeff Richardson Company has a history of community service.  Agents all give back to the community in ways that are important to them.  In the past, the Jeff Richardson Company has sponsored and supported organizations such as Safe Harbor, the South Carolina Ovarian Cancer Foundation (SCOCF), Generations Group Home, The Peace of Triune Art Auction, the Center for Community Services, neighborhood associations, and various public and private schools throughout the Upstate of South Carolina.
